The Nebraska Wing Civil
Engineer Department provides tools, practices and professional
support to maximize CAP civil engineer capabilities in
facility and contingency operations. The staff is
comprised of technical and professional experts in a variety
of areas including engineering, readiness, fire
protection, systems engineering, safety and energy
management.
The Nebraska Wing
Civil Engineering department maintains the wing
headquarters campus which consistes of three buildings
which were built in 1923 and are on the National Historic
Register. Additional facilities are located in the
training site aircraft hanger. Additionally, the wing
uses several other buildings for classroom space and
briefings
Camp
Ashland Training Site (CATS) also offers a full service dining
facility, excercise facilities, AAFES Base Exchange and
billeting for enlisted men, company grade and field grade
officers.
Each
headquarters building is interconnected with over 6 miles of
phone and computer LAN cables. Fiber optic connectivity
allows for high speed internet access connecting
15 offices, three meeting rooms and the wing
conference room to the Internet and the world
beyond.
