AEX Program

What is the AEX Program?

The Aerospace Education Excellence (AEX) Program is one of Civil Air Patrol's popular programs available for CAP squadrons to enroll. This program is also available to schools. The deadline for a class at school to enroll is 31 October while the deadline for CAP squadrons to enroll is 31 December.

There is an AEX program available from Kindergarten to twelfth grade! The AEX book, (there are two volumes) is eighty pages with over twenty national standards-based aerospace hands-on activities. All you have to do is complete three of the six activities from the AEX curriculum, (the other three can be subtitute activites) and complete a two-hour field experience (such as a trip to the airport or museum). The activities are made to fit into any curriculum and can be completed one at a time, or over several months, or one month at a time.

For those who complte the AEX program each year, an 11 X 14 wooden plaque is presented to the squadron or teacher. If your squadron signs up for this program, please let the wing Director of Aerospace Education know.
