Community Services

Douglas County in the Community

Douglas County Cadet Squadron is heavily involved in the community. We provide a professional group of volunteers to many activities, including:

This is just a sampling of the activities we help at. Another major activity we engage in is color guard. DCCS provided a color guard over the entire 2001 Memorial Day weekend for the opening of Pearl Harbor at 20 Grand Cinema. Before every showing of the film, our squadron presented the colors. We provide a regional-caliber color guard to many events. They have worked at a Coast Guard Memorial Day function and the Memorial Day flag raising at All Saints Episcopal Church. Look for pictures soon. Most notably, our squadron was invited to post and retrieve the colors at the memorial ceremony for Sgt. Philip Svitak, killed in action in Afghanistan, March 2002.
