Cadet's CornerWe will be hosting the NEWG CG School. The tentative dates/loc. are 10-12 Jan ‘03 @ CATS. If you’re interested in applying for a staff position, submit a completed CAPF 31 with your resume no later than 22 December 2002. There are several possible changes in the Cadet Programs coming down. If these changes take place, they’ll be printed/mailed out in Dec/Jan and take effect in April 2003. Look for further details. Always remember to complete recall/report each week. This helps our unit to run efficiently and remain effective in training/use of our time! Give a congrats to Cadet Rolfsen for completing the first milestone of the Cadet Program! That now makes three (Trizila & Klaumann, T.) with a few more not too far off! Lets make this a record year! SafetyWe’ll be conducting monthly safety briefings electronically. Look for safety briefs online. Once you’ve read the brief, you’ll need to submit a response via email. Cooperation is required of everyone. If we do not comply, our unit will be place on an operational freeze until the required information is in. Let’s work together to keep our unit up and operational! Aerospace EducationThere is a tentative date scheduled to visit the Planetarium at UNO on Thursday, 21 Nov 02 @ 1900. It will last for about one hour. The scheduled show is "Cowboy Astronomer". 20 people min. are needed to keep costs down. Provided we can meet these numbers, the cost will be $3 each. We are awaiting confirmation on the availability of instructor to run it. |
Professional DevelopmentTentatively, there is an SLS course to be held in March at the OCS. Remember that this is a requirement for progression. In addition, there’s also a CLC to be held in Feb. SLS is a pre-requisite for CLC. Mark your calendars, plan on attending. Currently, the SM’s are completing their ECI 13 tests. We’ll have 99% completed if all pass, we have 99% completion of the Yeager Award. With these to achievements, many more awards/promotions will be possible in the near future. Keep it up! CommunicationsThere’ll be an Adv ROA class held on 16 Nov at the Norfolk Public Library starting at 10:00. You must have a basic ROA to attend this class. Anyone wishing to attend, please notify Major Burgess. Casual CornerNewsletter NameThe Douglas County Newsletter needs an official name! Please submit suggestions to a member of the PAO staff.
