Lieutenant Colonel David M. Waite, Commander


Lieutenant Colonel David M. Waite, CAP, is the 32d Commander of the General Curtis E. LeMay, Offutt Composite Squadron. Colonel Waite joined CAP in Nov 1988 and been a member of four different wings and one overseas CAP unit. He has held numerous positions at Squadron and Wing level to include Director of Cadet Programs for Nebraska Wing from 1992-1994.

He has led numerous cadet drill and color guard teams including five that went to the National Cadet Competition, 1992 (seventh place), 1999 (second place), 2004 (fifth place), 2005 (second place) adn 2008 (second place). He has participated in five cadet encampments, two of which he served as the encampment commander. He holds a Master rating in Cadet Programs and is a qualified Communicator and Emergency Services Ground Team Leader.

His CAP decorations include the Gill Robb Wilson award (number 1912), Exceptional Service Award, Meritorious Service Award, and numerous Commanders' Commendations. In 2006 he was selected as the Nebraska Wing Senior Member of the Year.

Lieutenant Colonel Waite is a retired US Air Force Lieutenant Colonel. Colonel Waite holds a BS degree in Computer Engineering from the Citadel and a Masters degree from Central Michigan University in General Administration. He is married to Angel and has four children, Katie, Shawn, Julia Rose, and Robert Mason. They live in Bellevue, Nebraska.
