Major Jason Johnsen, Deputy Commander for Cadets 
Major Jason Johnsen joined the Civil Air Patrol as a cadet in September of 1991 at the Offutt Composite Squadron. As a cadet, he held numerous cadet staff positions including Flight Commander and Cadet Deputy Commander. Earning the Mitchell Award, he attained the grade of cadet Flight Officer. After several years of service to Civil Air Patrol, he found it necessary to leave due to college restraints. In April of 2000, he rejoined as a member of the Air Academy Composite Squadron located at the Air Force Academy, near Colorado Springs, Colorado. In July of 2001, he returned to the Offutt Composite Squadron where he has held several positions.
Major Johnsen currently works for West Corporation in Omaha, NE where he is Quality Assurance Support Analyst. Prior to this, he has worked at several companies in the Omaha, NE and Colorado Springs, CO areas doing software testing and quality assurance.
He is currently a Ground Team Leader. He also holds a Master rating in Cadet Programs and a Senior rating in Emergency Services and Logistics. His CAP decorations include the Loening Award, Mitchell Award, Commander’s Commendations, and an Unit Citation.
Major Johnsen was born at Altus AFB in 1977. Being raised in an Air Force family, he has lived in Oklahoma, Japan, Nebraska, South Dakota, and California before returning to Omaha. In Dec of 1999, he graduated from Creighton University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Computer Science. Upon completion of college, he relocated to Colorado Springs, Colorado until he returned to Omaha in June of 2001.
